Lorenzo Petrolli

Curriculum Vitae

I have a solid background in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials. I was awarded both degrees at the University of Bologna, with a theoretical Bachelor thesis on charge transfer processes in organic crystals (Prof. Fabrizia Negri), and an experimental Master thesis on the electrochemically-controlled dimerization of heteroaromatic derivatives (Prof. Margherita Venturi).

In 2018, I enrolled in the Doctorate School of the Department of Physics at the University of Trento, under the supervision of Prof. Gianluca Lattanzi and Dr. Emanuele Scifoni from the Trento Institute of Fundamental Physics and Applications (TIFPA – INFN), and thus defended my PhD thesis on the in silico assessment of DNA lesions by means of Monte Carlo track structure and Molecular Dynamics techniques.

Since June 2022, I am recipient of a research fellowship within the HAMMOCK project, dealing with the characterization of the kinetic modulations associated with the coarse-graining protocols of soft matter and biological systems.

My CV is available here.

Research interests

Multiscale dynamics of biophysical systems, dynamics of (radiation-induced) DNA lesions
